TU Dortmund University is not only a great place to study, but it is also host to interns from all over the world each year. Once you have found an internship position in Dortmund, please refer to the handbook for international students to learn more about living in Dortmund and the Ruhr Area.
TU Dortmund University has become one of the most popular German destinations each summer for students in the RISE program. Please refer to the database of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to see the available positions for summer research internships. The database opens each year in December and the application deadline is usually mid-January.
Any students wishing to participate in the WISE program from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) should directly contact the department at TU Dortmund University in which they would prefer to work. The International Office does not match students up with research internships in the WISE program.
TU Dortmund University is host to many IAESTE interns each year. The local AIESEC student initiative helps interns get situated in Dortmund and has a variety of activities to help them get to know other students and the area. Please ask at your own university to see if your university participates in IAESTE.
REACH Internships, Cooperation with Princeton University
The cooperation between the UAMR universities (TU Dortmund, Ruhr-Uni Bochum and Universität Duisburg-Essen) and Princeton University in the USA makes it possible for Princeton students to complete a summer research internship at TU Dortmund and/or the affiliated research institutions in Dortmund. Ruhr Fellowship
Together with the Initiativkreis Ruhr the UAMR universities (TU Dortmund, Ruhr-Uni Bochum and Universität Duisburg-Essen) offer ten summer Ruhr Fellowships. Only students from participating partner universities may apply.
