Visa

EU Nationals

EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.

 

Non-EU Nationals

Every citizen from a non-European member state is obliged to have a visa for their stay in Germany. A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days in an 180-day period for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement. Please check on the website of the Federal Foreign Office if you need a visa to ENTER Germany.

 

  • Yes: If it says "yes" in the entry visa list of the Federal Foreign Office, you need to apply for a visa in your home country because otherwise you will not be allowed to enter Germany! Contact us so we can send you a letter of invitation for the embassy. Apply for your visa as soon as possible!

  • No: If it says "no" in the entry visa list of the Federal Foreign Office, you can enter Germany without a visa. Nevertheless, within 90 days, you will have to go to the Ausländerbehörde (Foreigners' Registration Office) of the city of Dortmund to apply for a visa. The staff of the International Office will be there to assist you and already make appointments for you at the Ausländerbehörde in advance.
