There is always a lot to do at the International Office - our team welcomes Lisa Discher who is doing a voluntary service at TU Dortmund University

Hello my name is Lisa Discher and I am 19 years old. This year I finished High School and now I am doing a voluntary service in the field of culture (FSJ Kultur) at the International office.

What expectations do you have of your volunteer year at the International Office?

I decided to do a voluntary service in the field of culture (FSJ Kultur) because I hope to meet new people, learn new things and gain experiences which can be useful for my future.

What are you looking forward to the most?

After finishing High School, I am now looking forward to getting first-hand insides into work life at TU Dortmund University. I want to get to know my colleagues better and to meet international students. I am planning study at TU Dortmund University next fall and I am excited to know how a university works. When applying for this job, I had no idea what my tasks would look like. Now, I am eager to start my first tasks in the office!

Which competences would you like to acquire or improve?

I want to learn how to organize and plan events professionally. I am interested in supporting my colleagues during our events and meet new people there. Also, I want to improve my school English. In addition, I want to use this chance to learn more about computer programs.

Lisa Discher is responsible for the event Eat & Read. Feel free to stop by and enjoy some fresh waffles!
