Workshop: International Career Development

thumb_IMG_3561_1024The labour market is increasingly competitive and internationalised and global experience is (often) expected of graduates. The question is where to find the best job opportunities and in which countries you can advance your career the fastest. This workshop offers insights and hands-on advice on how to best enter the international business world. You learn about global opportunities - how to find them, how to get them and which steps to take while still at university.

We will check your documents (CV and Cover letter) to fulfill international standards, improve your (online) communication, interview skills and global networking. Tangible tips and tricks will help you design your to-do list with the next steps to start a global career.

In this course you will learn about:

  • International working opportunities – where to find them, how to get them
  • Prepare your documents to be fit for the international job market (CV and cover letter)
  • Improve your interviewing skills
  • Communication and networking in culturally diverse settings
  • Social media and online profiles usage

In order to register, please send an e-mail to Laura Hope with the following information:

  • current Certificate of Matriculation (Studienbescheinigung)
  • your CV/resumé or Lebenslauf (English or German, whatever you have been able to do so far)
  • A short note about your past experiences abroad and where you would like to go in the future (and for what purpose: interning, working, studying, etc.)

On the day of the workshop, please bring your first draft of your CV and cover letter (English) with you. We'll work on improving these in the workshop! Also bring a job advertisement in case there is one for which you would like to apply.

This workshop is free of charge for TU Dortmund University's students (German or international students).
